Kupol Volcano

Kupol is an extinct volcano in Nalychevo Nature Park included in the UNESCO World Cultural and Natural Heritage List. The ascent of this 1,674 meters high volcano enables to see a beautiful panorama on the Nalychevskaya valley as well as on Koriaksky volcano. When it is covered with snow it attracts many ski and snowboard enthusiasts. An excursion to this volcano also enables to discover Vershinskoye Lake as well as Vershinkiye hot springs. On its slopes lives a marmot that is included in the Red Book of Kamchatka’s protected species. Its fat was considered precious and was used for its so-called medicinal properties.
