Ostry Tobalchik Volcano

Ostry Tobalchik volcano belongs to Klyuchevskoy Volcano group in the eastern range. The whole south western part is occupied by the volcanic massif formed by volcanoes Ostry Tobalchik and Plosky Tobalchik. It is located in Klyuchevskoy Volcano Nature Park included in the UNESCO World Cultural and Natural Heritage List. This extinct shield volcano reaches a height of 3,682 meters. It was called “Ostry” (pointed) because of its sharp summit covered in ice. The date of its last eruption is unknown.
