Asacha Bay

Asacha Bay is located on the foothills of the volcanic massif that includes Asacha volcano (90 km south of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky). It stretches for 12.5 km. With cliffs covered in varied vegetation and waterfalls flowing into the sea, Asacha Bay is among the most picturesque. Many bird colonies come to nest in the bay and it is also the home of many marine mammals. The Asacha River flows into the bay. It also welcomes many fishes; it is an important spawning place for salmons. Asacha bay is also the mouth of Glinka River.
