Ari Kamen Island

Ari Kamen Island is part of Komandorsky archipelago and of the Komandorsky national biosphere reserve. It is located west from Bering Island. The island has an area of 20.000 square meters which makes it the smaller of the four islands of the archipelago. Its highest point reaches 49.8 meters. South from the island there an islet that rises 2 meters above sea level. The island is populated with Steller sea lions, Northern fur seals, sea-otters as well as a rare seal species called Phoca vitulina stejnegeri. The island is also an important nesting place for 17 sea bird species.
