Apachinskiye Hot Springs

Apachinskiye hot springs are located 15 km south east from Apacha village, in Shikovaya River’s valley. On the right bank of the river, the springs form, at their source, 4 cavities with a maximum diameter of 4 meters and depth of 2 meters. At the bottom the water’s temperature can be from 56 to 72°C. The rate of flow is 11.5L/s. They contain sodium hydrogen carbonate and sodium chloride. Their mineralization rate is 0.7-0.8 g/L. There are also traces of boron, lithium, iron and aluminum. The high temperature of the springs has created a kind of microclimate and enabled for a rare flora to grow, including an orchid: the Oreorchis Patens.
