Verkhne-Shchapinskiye Hot Springs

Verkhne-Shchapinskiye hot springs are located 250 meters from the source of Belaya River, on the foothills of Turokski range, in Levaya Chapina valley. They are made up of four major and a few other minor springs in which water temperature varies from 42°C to 52°C. The main springs are equipped with pools and have wooden frames. The rate of flow is high. The temperature of the nearby river reaches 35°C. Mineralization rate is 4.54 g/L. It contains arsenic, boric acid as well as iron. For a long time Verkhne-Shchapinskiye hot springs have been famous for their therapeutic virtues. For a while there were discussions about adapting the place so that the sick could reach it and be accommodated. However now it is not very popular anymore.
