Reserve-Museum of Fine Arts
The State Reserve Museum of Fine Arts in Kostroma was opened by Emperor Nicholas II in honour of the tercentenary of the Romanov dynasty.
The museum displays such collections as "The Old Russian Art", "The Russian Art of the 18th - early 20th cen." consisting of works created on the territory of the Kostroma Region, and also "Domestic Art of the 20th century" including the canvases of I.Shishkin, K.Korovin, N.Klodt, I.Aivazovsky, M.Nesterov, V.Surikov, V.Serov, K.Somov, N.Roerich, B.Kustodiev. The museum funds also keep a collection of jewellery.
