Victor Vasnetsov House-Museum

Great painter Victor Vasnetsov (1848-1926) lived in this house, now a museum. Built in 1894, he was the one to draw its plan. It gathers twenty-five thousand items linked to his personal and artistic life. Monumental paintings reflect Russia’s medieval past and folklore. In a studio in the courtyard the paintings he made in the last ten years of his life called “Poem of the seven fairy tales” are displayed. Victor Vasnetsov House-Museum is a branch of the Tretyakov gallery.
