Lermontov House-Museum

Russian writer and poet Mikhail Lermontov (1814-1841) lived in this mansion in the years 1829-2832. At the time he was a student at Moscow University. This town-house went through a lot of changes but then was restored back to its original style when it was decided to turn it into a museum in honor of the poet. It consists of the large and the small living rooms, Lermontov’s bedroom and that of Elisabeta Arseneva, his grandmother who raised him, his study as well as other rooms. Lermontov House-Museum is a branch of the Literature Museum.
