Ostrovsky House-Museum

This museum was created in 1984 in the house where Russia playwright Alexander Ostrovsky was born (1823-1886). The main theme of the exhibition is “Moscow in the life and work of A. Ostrovsky”. The collection consists of personal effects of the actor as well as others that belonged to his family and to some of his actor friends. Visitors can also see equipments that were used in plays where his performance was renowned: archive documents, sketches of decors, costumes, posters… The museum is a branch of the Bakhruchin State Theatre Museum.
