Moscow Metro Museum

The Metro Museum was created in 1967 on the initiative of former workers who had taken part in the building of the metro. The museum explains how the metro was built, how it kept working during World War II and the major part it played in the daily life of Moscow’s inhabitants back then. It also shows how the metro works and describes the escalator system that allows millions of Muscovites to dive deep down under the city every day.
