Moscow Art Theatre Museum

The museum opened in 1923 in the Chekhov Academic Art Center. The theatre itself supplied the museum with many documents. The collection was extended with personal archives that belonged to Russian theatre figures such as Konstantin Stanislavsky, Vladimir Nemirovich-Danchenko or Vassili Lujsky. This museum now owns two other subsidiaries: Konstantin Stanislavksy House-Museum and Vladimir Nemirovich-Danchenko Apartment-Museum. With its subsidiaries the museum hosts many exhibitions dedicated to famous artists such as Anton Chekhov, Maxim Gorky, Mikhail Bulgakov, Boris Pasternak, etc.
