Vladimir Mayakovsky Museum

This museum is dedicated to Vladimir Mayakovsky (1893-1930). He was poet, playwright, scenarist, director, movie artist, painter and editor of “Liev” (left-wing). The poet lived and worked from 1919 to 1930 in the building that houses the museum. It was opened in 1974 and was granted the collections from the Library-Museum Mayakovsky founded in 1938 that was located in another part of town. Now the museum’s collections consist of over fifty thousand items.
