Matryoshka Museum

This museum is entirely dedicated to the matryoshka dolls. These famous Russian dolls were named after the Russian female name Matriona, a very popular name in the 19th century. It is hard to say when the dolls were created but they became famous at the Paris Universal Exhibition in 1900. As you visit the museum guides will tell you the history of matryoshki. You will get to admire various models: from classical to avant-garde, from historical to caricatured, made of three to thirty pieces!
