“New Jerusalem” Museum

This historical-architectural museum is located on the land of Resurrection of the New Jerusalem Monastery in the city of Istra, west from Moscow. Founded in 1920, it was almost entirely destroyed by German troops in 1941. It was practically integrally rebuilt. Nowadays the museum collection is made of a hundred and seventy thousand items. Among other things visitors can admire liturgical items, paintings from Russia and abroad, weapons, porcelain, furniture, decorative and graphic art, etc.
