Tour Overview:

Several tens of kilometres separate Ulan Bator, the Mongolian capital, from the Terelj National Park. It is perfect area to experience a real nomad life for those who have no time for a longer stay in Mongolia.

You will drive in the wildest part of the park, between dark forests, amazing rock formations and pure rivers. The nomad family that will accommodate you used to settle every year in summer on the shore of the Terelj River. They will let you in the nomad daily life. On foot or by horse you will discover picturesque sceneries on the Gorkhi Terelj Range.

Tour Programme:

Day 1

In the morning meeting in Ulan Bator and drive to the Gorkhi-Terelj National Park. Visit of Turtle Rock, a very special rock formation, looking like a turtle. Visit to Guurtein Monastery. Lunch. Meeting with the nomad family. Walk or ride along River Terelj. Overnight in yurt.
2-hour drive by 4x4.

Day 2

A day usually begins very early for nomads. At 5 am the wife goes to milk driss (females of the yak) while her husband is gathering herds. If you are awake and if you would like to take part at those works, you would be more than welcome!
After a traditional Mongolian breakfast we will leave for a one day trek or horse trek along the Tuul River and through forests.MFor dinner we will taste a mongolian barbecue cooked by our hosts. Overnight in yurt.

Day 3

Your stay in the Terelj National Park comes to its end. Last lunch in ournomad family and transfer to Ulan Bator.
At 6 pm you will enjoy a Mongolian traditional show with concert of throat singing and morin khuur. Overnight in hotel.
